How much does a website cost?

Wir vereinbaren einen Preis, der zu Ihrem Budget passt.

Say Hello offers a very flexible approach to project estimates and ensures great results to match your budget.

I understand that many clients aren’t sure exactly what they want or need when they ask me for a quote. Clients want to get an idea of how much a project is likely to cost in order to decide whether a custom-built website is right for them, and whether Say Hello is the right partner for their project.

Whether it’s for conception and design, implementation, or ongoing website maintenance, clients and I define the scope together to accommodate their budget. Each part of the process is quoted individually, giving a transparent overview of the entire project.

Precise quoting

The more precise the definitions at the beginning of the project, the more precisely I can determine the final pricing right from the start. My goal is to ensure you get the best possible result. I do my best to achieve this by offering comprehensive project support at a price that meets your expectations.

1. Content and technical concept

If you don’t yet have a concept for your new website or web application, I can support you with my many years of experience and discuss the requirements of your company and target audience with you. I create concept documentation that makes it easier for any developer, designer, marketing specialist, or content creator to understand the project goals.

For an SME website, the concept work usually revolves around what information should be conveyed and how we structure it so that visitors can quickly find what they’re looking for. It also includes concrete advice on how to avoid pitfalls when addressing a multilingual audience and provides a cost-effective solution for hosting and a technically performant website.

For more complex websites, the concept work also takes into account special features, such as advanced search tools, member management, and protected content, or specific browser-based tools for visitors with smartphones.

Costs: from CHF 600.–

1.1 Accessibility

Ensuring that accessibility is part of the initial concept for a project usually means that no additional costs will be necessary for work I carry out. Leaving accessibility to a later stage can often mean rebuilding and even redesigning parts of the website, which will add to the overall project budget.

2. Graphic design

If you don’t yet have a design template or content concept for your new website, I’d be happy to develop one with you. One of my core competencies is translating corporate or personal branding into a functional, accessible, and barrier-free web design.

This typically requires an existing CI/CD (e.g., logo, stationery, brochure). We can also collaborate with experienced freelancers and proven partner agencies in the graphic design field to ensure your website’s visual identity reaches its full potential.

Costs: from CHF 3,600.– 1

3. Custom-built website for an SME

If a design template already exists, I will support your design team or partner agency in selecting technical solutions that meet their requirements. With an eye for both design details and technological requirements, I ensure that the design agency’s conceptual work complies with modern standards for accessibility and usability.

  • I build the customized website based on the provided designs and ensure that it works on all screen sizes and remains performant («responsive website»). Projects don’t usually require the use of a third-party page builder, but are built using the standard and extensive functionality provided by WordPress itself.
  • I will train you in the use of the content management system and support you in integrating the content into the website (via video call or optionally on-site).
  • All aspects of the website’s content can be edited. Unless you prefer to keep the editing process simple, I can prepare the editing tools according to your needs.
  • I will publish the website on your existing web hosting or I will help you select a suitable hosting plan.

Typical costs: from CHF 6,000

4. Extended website for an SME

  • The same services as for a basic website.
  • Extended website modules, which I define together with you in a concept document and then implement. These include advanced search functions on the website, login-protected content, user management tools, e-commerce or web app functionality, and complex animations. I calculate the costs for each module individually, so you only pay for what they actually need.

Typical costs: from CHF 12,000.

5. Web apps

Instead of relying on third-party software that must be installed and manually updated, modern web browsers enable the development of web applications that run directly in the browser on both desktop and mobile devices.

Thanks to WordPress’s extensibility, we can integrate customised web app features directly into your website or exchange data with third-party systems.

Typical costs: from CHF 6,000.

6. Content management

Optimally preparing and capturing your content and images takes some time. If you don’t want to waste time, you can leave the editing work to me. With almost 30 years of experience in creating and managing websites, ensuring your content looks its best is a priority.

I am happy to offer hourly packages with a discount.

Maintenance of your website

I’m happy to offer my clients a personalised, annually renewing agreement. This ensures that the software and, optionally, the website content are always kept up to date. I maintain an high level of security and use automated monitoring tools to respond immediately if the website needs attention. I also provide optimised and privacy-compliant tools for statistical analysis of website usage.
