Old web designs from my personal archive

,

Showcasing some design work for projects nearly twenty years ago, which have stood the test of time.

Some files I’ve come across while clearing out some old hard drives have made me smile: old Photoshop files containing my designs for websites dating back to the mid 2000s. Although much of my focus at Say Hello is on conceiving and building websites and web applications, I still love to do design work for clients and for myself.

I still quite like some aspects of these old ideas, some of which were programmed for client projects and went on to be very successful in the days when there were fewer websites around and less of a drive to make every web page look the same. There were no smartphones or iPads at the time, which made the design work a little easier, but designing for multiple devices and screen sizes has come to be one of my core competencies. I’m pretty convinced that a few of these designs have stood the test of time, and could even be re-worked for use today.

Swiss Helicopter

My favourite is the website for Swiss Helicopter Group (formerly BOHAG), which I designed and built in 2008. That was my favourite project of the time, when I and my colleagues at a former employer collaborated to build a site with extensive multimedia including beautiful, high-resolution aerial alpine photography and videos.

I knew the CEO of the company back then, but I missed my chance to do some photography for them. My favourite web projects have always been rich media experiences, and I’d love to get the chance to do more of them.
