The Zunftgesellschaft zum Affen has its origins in 1321 and is both one of the oldest guilds in Bern and my oldest customer. But the longevity of the society in no way means that a modern web design is inappropriate.
Our colleagues at Edorex AG in Bern worked with the client to develop a unique, modern look, and Say Hello was commissioned to realise the multilingual website based on the equally modern and flexible WordPress content management system.
With the introduction of full-site editing capabilities in the summer of 2021, it made sense to utilise the new technology to allow maximum flexibility when editing content and navigation. The new technology also ensures significantly improved performance.
Thanks to my experience with the Block Editor since the beginning of 2019, I was able to create all areas of the website with a combination of customised and existing WordPress Blocks. Even the irregular, offset background areas could be seamlessly integrated into the output of the Block Editor thanks to many years of experience with custom code.
Since the launch in winter 2021, I have been able to maintain and further develop the website on an ongoing basis as part of a maintenance contract.
